Marie A. Nolen
Licensed Massage Therapist

Ms. Nolen is an Illinois state licensed Massage Therapist (license #227-000655) and a professional member
of the American Massage Therapy Association www.amtamassage.org. She is a 1999 graduate of the
Wellness and Massage Training Institute and also has a bachelors degree in Accounting from Chicago State
University.

After working in banking, an economics consulting firm, a marketing firm, a non-profit agency, and in public
accounting, Ms. Nolen had a goal to combine her analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a
desire to help people feel better. That desire led Ms. Nolen to pursue a second career path in Massage
Therapy, open Emerging Spirit Professional Massage Therapy Services, become an educator for the massage
therapy industry, and offer massage workshops for the general public.

Ms. Nolen has been a Massage Therapy instructor since 2001 and provides professional massage therapy
services to clients in their homes, offices, or at special events (i.e. parties, conferences, health fairs). Her
educational experience includes teaching Business and Professional Development, Business Accounting,
wellness, clinical massage subjects, and managing the academic program for the massage department of a
local health care careers college. Ms. Nolen worked for a brief time at the National Certification Board for
Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, www.ncbtmb.com, whose mission is to foster high standards of ethical
and professional practice of massage therapists across the country, and also volunteers for both the South
Suburban College Advisory Committee and the Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA) as
an on-site school evaluator.
